globwarm_ttljpg.jpeg The U.S contributes the most to the green house effect, but it is countries like Italy, Australia and Portugal who are in the lead when it comes to developing and using renewable resources, such as tidal power and wave power. Do you think this is right, and if not, what do you think the U.S government plan should be this?

Great question for the US government. I wonder how long we will be able to maintain our “superpower” status, while continuing to ignore and sidestep one of the most pressing issues of the era.

Hey kids, someone asked me to comment on your video from a facebook group devoted to policy debate, so I decided to give it a shot.

This question may have a point that is valid, but that does not mean that it is salient to the issue. Who cares what other countries are doing if we live in the United States? If they discover that tidal power is just wicked awesome, wouldn’t we just use it as well? The real issue here in the global warming debate is this. The United States contributes significantly to the green house effect. Global warming is both real and bad for the planet and future generations. Obviously we have to find energy sources that do not emit greenhouse gases if we are ever going to substantially reduce emissions. What are you gonna do about it?

All in all, you did a good job. My issue is with the question wording. Comparing the United States to other countries opens up Democratic presidential candidates up to criticism from conservatives about how they want the UN to run the Untied States and want to seek approval from the international community on all issues. It’s just not something anyone needs. A question that gets to the heart of the matter without bringing other countries into the mix brings the issue up in a way that is just as effective, but without having needless information about other countries, when most Americans might want to focus on America.

I hope that was helpful. You all seem t be doing a great job, and I like the issues brought up.

Also, I didn’t watch the video provided here, but the one on youtube. I already am convinced, so I just tried to help you by evaluating the question.
